Yes. LocalMusic AI downloads the ACE-Step AI model (~4 GB) the first time you generate music. This is cached locally and only needs to happen once.
Generation speed depends on your Apple Silicon chip and available RAM. Reducing the duration or number of diffusion steps will speed things up. Machines with 8 GB RAM may experience slower generation due to memory pressure.
Yes, once the AI model is downloaded. All music generation runs locally on your Mac. The only features requiring internet are the initial model download and the optional cloud generation mode.
Songs are stored in the app's sandboxed container. You can export them using the share or save options within the app.
Go to Settings within the app and use the "Delete Model Cache" option. The model will be re-downloaded the next time you generate music.
Stem separation splits an audio file into separate tracks (vocals and accompaniment). It uses a Spleeter model that is downloaded separately (~36 MB) on first use.
